Hearing Loss and Falls

This virtual presentation, hosted by Presbyterian Senior Services, will discuss facts about falling, the correlation between falls and hearing loss, how hearing affects balance, and how to reduce the risk of falls. CHC's Hearing Symposium

Session #1 - September 6, 2022, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

 

Hearing Loss and Your Health - This session will cover why addressing hearing loss is important for your health and well-being. We will discuss emotional barriers to seeking help for hearing loss including stigma and shame. Finally, we will share how to choose an audiologist and what you need to know about hearing testing. Come with your questions!

Session #2 - September 13, 2022, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
 

Hearing Loss and Communication - Communication challenges are common with hearing loss. Join us for an informative session covering strategies that can improve communication for one-on-one, small groups and large social settings. We will also cover low cost technology and apps for hearing better the phone, TV and home alerts (ex. doorbell, cooking timer). We can't wait to share with you some amazing tools and tips. Come with any questions you may have for us to answer.

Session #3 - September 20, 2022, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
 

Hearing Loss and Technology - Hearing aids are an important and useful solution for people with hearing loss when matched and fitted properly. The variety of options and features can be overwhelming. Join us for an educational session on hearing aid features and accessories for hearing better. We will also cover what you should expect from an audiologist and what questions you should ask to ensure you are getting top notch care and guidance.
