Janick Ferrier Hickman, MS

Janick (pronounced Janique) Ferrier Hickman rejoined the CHC-FL family in 2019, having previously served with the agency from 2010 to 2015. She holds a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has dedicated over a decade to working with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened individuals and their families—primarily children, adolescents, and adults in South Florida. Proficient in American Sign Language, Janick values and respects the diverse backgrounds of those she serves, approaching her work with empathy and cultural awareness. She strives to meet clients and families where they are, fostering collaborative relationships to support mental health, education, and community engagement needs. Currently, Janick oversees the Education Department and manages CHC-FL’s social media platforms and volunteer program, and serves on the fundraising team. Outside of work, she enjoys being a proud flag football and basketball mom and volunteers with the Deaf Ministry at her church.
