Sibyl-Michelle Akins, Director of Finance, joined CHC in 2023, bringing a fresh perspective and a wealth of nonprofit experience. She oversees the general accounting and billing teams and liaises with department directors to ensure cohesion, accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in all of CHC’s financial operations, from payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and medical billing, to financial analysis and annual external audits. She works closely with the Executive Director to provide in-depth financial reporting and analysis to organization leadership, relying on her vast expertise in accounting technologies and thorough understanding of various government grant management platforms. Sibyl-Michelle has a degree in Accounting and over 20 years of hands-on nonprofit accounting and financial management experience, with extensive knowledge and practice in budgeting, financial planning, grant tracking, and compliance.
