Alec Zubsov, PMHNP-BC, AGPCNP-C, is the prescribing clinician at the Baker Family Emotional Health and Wellness Center, providing psychiatric care and medication management. He is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of clinical experience across psychiatric and primary care settings. Early in his career, he provided primary care to medically complex and underserved patients through private practice, community health centers, and home-based visits throughout New York City. After earning his psychiatric specialization, he joined VNS Health. There, he served on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team for individuals with serious mental illness, and later delivered transitional psychiatric care through a dedicated program for recently discharged hospital patients with complex dual diagnoses. He then broadened his practice in a telehealth setting, treating the everyday concerns that bring most adults to mental health care at some point in their lives.

Alec's approach to medication management is measured and collaborative. He treats prescribing as a shared decision and medication as one element within a larger treatment plan. His clinical perspective is further shaped by immersion in Eastern methodologies at residential mental health and recovery programs in Thailand, where mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, meditation, and somatic practices were integrated into daily treatment. He brings that orientation to his work today.

Alec earned his Master of Science in Adult-Geriatric Primary Care from SUNY Stony Brook University, completed his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training at SUNY University at Buffalo, and finished a fellowship in Community Psychiatry with VNS Behavioral Health. He holds professional licenses and practices in both New York and New Jersey.
