The Usher Syndrome Family Center
Coordinated Care. Compassionate Support. A Place to Turn.
Dedicated Center for Families Living with Usher Syndrome
Every family's journey with Usher syndrome is unique, but no family should have to navigate it alone.
The Usher Syndrome Family Center (USFC) provides coordinated care, trusted guidance, and compassionate support for children, teens, adults, and families living with Usher Syndrome.
With guidance and the right training and technology, individuals with Usher Syndrome are pursuing their dreams, exploring new opportunities and living active and meaningful lives.
What is Usher Syndrome?
Usher syndrome is a rare genetic condition that affects hearing and vision and may also impact balance. Individuals with Usher syndrome are born with or develop hearing loss and experience progressive vision loss over time.
While there is currently no cure, early identification, coordinated intervention, education, individualized strategies, and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference in communication, independence, and quality of life.
“Working with the appropriate professionals and actively learning techniques to face obstacles with confidence will last a lifetime.” — Ethan and Gavin
