Hello world! Our new blog — “Lines of Communication”

Dear friend of CHC,

I’m excited to introduce a new way for us at CHC to keep in touch with you — our clients, our supporters, and those looking for information and resources.

We’ll keep you up to date on what’s happening at CHC; we will also be sharing information and stories about communicating well. I hope you’ll even find something to inspire you.

The Center for Hearing and Communication has always been about providing excellent services, but we also believe in care that is compassionate and personal. Every day, we apply complex hearing technology with patience and precision to help people get more from sounds and speech. We use talent and sophisticated clinical know-how to teach babies born deaf to talk with hearing technology. Our emotional health counselors help people connect and communicate on an emotional level.

The truth is, when you have a hearing loss, overcoming it to access all the good things in life can mean a lot of hard work and resilience.

So I hope you’ll find this blog an opportunity to learn and reflect on the softer side of communication. Human connection is the very basis of what makes us grow, change, find happiness, and love, and it all starts with communicating well.

With best wishes,

Dr. Laurie Hanin, CHC Executive Director
