CHC's End-of-Year Appeal

Dear CHC Friend,

When my daughter Soli was diagnosed with hearing loss, my whole world stopped.

I remember sitting in the audiologist’s office, holding her tiny hand, trying to absorb the words while wondering what her future would look like. I had so many fears—would she make friends? Be able to talk to us? Most of all, we felt the weight of being the ones responsible for helping her, but not knowing where to turn.

CHC Helped Us See What Was Possible

CHC became the place that showed us we weren’t alone and helped us see what was possible.

The moment we walked into CHC, we knew it was different. It wasn’t just the expert audiology care, speech therapy, and support from a teacher of the deaf—it was the sense of community we felt. The CHC community was there for me as the parent, and for Soli, too. Long before we knew what Soli’s life would hold, CHC believed in her, and had a vision for her future.

This year, I witnessed something I could never have imagined on that first day. Soli wrote a book. And then she stood before a crowded bookstore and read it aloud.

CHC's Supportive Community

Through CHC’s Hear My Story! program, Soli wrote and illustrated her own autobiography—her journey with hearing loss told in her own voice. She wrote about her diagnosis, her frustrations, her breakthroughs, and the strength she didn’t always know she had.

I will never forget the sound of her voice—steady, proud, completely her own.

Surrounded by family, friends, and clinicians who have walked this road with us, Soli shared how CHC has empowered her to be proud of who she is and helped her recognize just how much this community means to her.

CHC gave Soli confidence, language, and pride. It gave her ownership of who she is—a vibrant, passionate 11 year old who loves swimming, basketball, and Taylor Swift—and a future full of possibility.

Please Make a Donation

CHC changes the lives of families like mine every single day. And they can only do that because of people who choose to support this extraordinary mission.

As the year comes to a close, I hope you will join me in ensuring that more children can find their voices, share their stories, and stand in their own strength—just like my daughter did.

Thank you.

With deepest gratitude,

ree
