Become a mentor for a child with hearing loss

CHC’s mentor program

November ’20 Update: We are welcoming new young professionals interested in getting involved in CHC’s Mentor Program. Contact us at dselznick@chchearing.org today. You’ll take part in fun and innovative virtual events with CHC kids and have a ball. One mentor recently shared this:

Being part of the mentoring program has been such a wonderful experience! It’s great to hang out with the kids, see how amazing they are, and get to answer their questions and share my experience with them. I’ve also made new friends myself and always enjoy getting to see the other mentors too!

Seeking young professionals

Perhaps you recall a person with hearing loss in your life who served as a mentor or role model – someone who helped instill a sense that you could accomplish anything you set your mind to. Here’s an opportunity to give back and be that person for a new generation of kids with hearing loss.

CHC is looking for young professionals, ages 19-30, with hearing loss to volunteer as mentors in our new mentorship program for children, ages 8-13, with hearing loss.

As a mentor, you’ll share your experiences growing up with a hearing loss and help a young person who is deaf or hard of hearing navigate his or her own journey.

Mentor events are currently happening virtually, so you can take part regardless of where you reside.

To learn more about becoming a mentor, please contact education specialist Dana Selznick at (917) 305-7855 or dselznick@chchearing.org.

Thank you!
