Holidays are fun, but they can also be educational!
I incorporated this Valentine's Day activity into my weekly educational support sessions and it was a big hit. It's a great way for children to work on their early educational skills, learn to follow instructions and begin to discover all the patterns around us.
Instructions
Use Valentine's Day as an opportunity to explore patterns with your child. All you'll need is paper hearts in 2-3 festive colors!
Try patterns such as ABAB, AABB, ABCABC, AABAAB. The possibilities are endless!
Create a Love Bug
As an extension to this activity, your child can glue down the pattern and write their name on the hearts. Draw a face and tiny feet, glue on antennae and you’ve got yourself a love bug!
