Summer is a time for fun—and also a great opportunity for students with hearing loss to strengthen academic skills and stay on track. That’s why the Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC) is offering Summer Academic Groups, designed to help children build on progress made during the school year while preventing summer learning loss.

Learn in a Fun, Engaging Environment

Led by a team of experienced Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, CHC’s groups focus on strengthening reading, writing, and math skills in a fun, engaging environment. Groups are tailored by age and academic level, offering personalized support that meets each child’s unique needs. In addition to academic development, children benefit socially by connecting with peers who share similar experiences.

Make Meaningful Improvements

A parent whose child attends CHC’s writing group shared this recently:

We can't say enough great things about CHC's writing group. Our son is making meaningful improvements in his writing, and it's given him the opportunity to meet new friends who understand his experiences with hearing loss. He comes out of every session excited about what they did, whether it's Mad Libs or some other writing game. As parents, it's given us extra peace of mind knowing that we are providing him with the services he needs.
