Updated: Feb 29

Upcoming Events Promote Healthy Hearing

At the Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC), we're gearing up for an exciting series of "Hearing Matters" events dedicated to promoting healthy hearing and raising awareness about the importance of hearing health care.

From World Hearing Day (March 3) to National Speech-Language-Hearing Month (May), we're thrilled to invite all of you to join us in celebrating better hearing and all the different ways CHC and others in the field are improving life with hearing loss.

  1. World Hearing Day (March 3): On March 3rd, we commemorate World Hearing Day, a global initiative to raise awareness of hearing loss, change mindsets, and inspire people to seek treatment for their hearing issues. Learn more and take action.

  2. International Noise Awareness Day (April 24): On April 24th, organizations around the globe will shine a spotlight on noise awareness and the importance of protecting your hearing from noise. CHC is proud to have founded INAD in 1996. Look for this year's theme—Protect Your Hearing, Protect Your Health—on LinkNYC kiosks throughout NYC. Visit NoiseAwareness.org to learn more.

  3. CHC's 113th Annual Meeting and Awards (May 1): Join us for CHC's 113th Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony where we will look back on the year's achievements at CHC and honor exceptional individuals and organizations improving life with hearing loss. Learn more.

  4. Comedy Night Fundraiser (May 14): Laughter is the best medicine, and on May 14th we'll be spreading joy and raising funds at the 38th Annual Comedy Night. Join us for a one-of-a-kind evening of laughter, camaraderie, and philanthropy. Learn more.

  5. National Speech-Language-Hearing Month (May): Throughout the month of May, we'll be celebrating National Speech-Language-Hearing Month with free online hearing screenings, special promotions, a monthlong city-wide messaging campaign and much more. Stay tuned for more details.

You're encouraged to get involved with any and all of these events. Why? Because hearing matters! Help get the word out that hearing health care is health care. And lend your support to a community we all care deeply about.
